Happy New Year 2015! Wishing Peace and Happiness to All.......
I had been thinking about this table setting and what I would like for it. Hope you enjoy and get some ideas from my post.
When I saw these plates a bit ago at Home Goods I thought hmm...., French. Great for a French theme table, but why not a New Year themed table with the clock!?! As time never stands still. I also purchased the dinner plate at the same time. I thought with the gold hands of the clock they looked great together.
I set this place setting on a white linen with black border tablecloth. Using a black charger from Pier One. Flatware with gold handle from Pier One as well. And my gold goblets that I use all the time.
The hat I purchased at Big Lots a few years ago. I decorated it with jewels, my initial, lace, burlap and a myriad of other items. I used sheet music and fan folded it and attached under the book paper shredded bow. The 2015 I added this year is from Crate and Barrel.,
Instead of using Christmas cracker poppers, I used a paper horn noise maker, put in some candy wrapped in cellophane. To hold the cellophane bag/cone inside just a dot of hot glue will hold it in enough. Then you can remove the candy and blow to your heart's content.
I used a Pottery Barn linen towel with a black and white stripe ruffled border for the napkin. I use these small towels quite a bit for napkins.
I hope you and yours have a wonderful New Year. Thanks for looking. Please feel free to leave a comment. Thank you again.
Val your table looks lovely.I too saw those dishes at Home Goods and immediately thought oh

ReplyDeleteBeautiful table Valerie. I love the clock plates. How fun to find those at Home Goods. Beautiful. happy New year.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing I have been avoiding the HomeGoods store for the last few weeks, I would have been toting home a set of those gorgeous plates too. They really say New Years Eve to me, I love the way they are made with the gold and black clock motif instead of the stark black and white clock plates that I have been seeing in blog land. You certainly have styled a beautiful table to welcome in the new year..... Candy
ReplyDeleteI love your New Year's table! Those dishes with the clock faces are magnificent! I so wish I could find some of those, I can imagine using them for so many different table settings. I also love your little horn filled with candy as a favor. You and I were thinking along the same lines with gold and black and white! Happy New Year! ~ Chloe

ReplyDeleteSounds like we are kindred spirits with the bed and day beds so exactly alike! Let me know when you finish! I can't believe it took me to long, but life moves so quickly doesn't it?
