Happy New Year 2015! Wishing Peace and Happiness to All.......
I had been thinking about this table setting and what I would like for it. Hope you enjoy and get some ideas from my post.
When I saw these plates a bit ago at Home Goods I thought hmm...., French. Great for a French theme table, but why not a New Year themed table with the clock!?! As time never stands still. I also purchased the dinner plate at the same time. I thought with the gold hands of the clock they looked great together.
I set this place setting on a white linen with black border tablecloth. Using a black charger from Pier One. Flatware with gold handle from Pier One as well. And my gold goblets that I use all the time.
The hat I purchased at Big Lots a few years ago. I decorated it with jewels, my initial, lace, burlap and a myriad of other items. I used sheet music and fan folded it and attached under the book paper shredded bow. The 2015 I added this year is from Crate and Barrel.,
Instead of using Christmas cracker poppers, I used a paper horn noise maker, put in some candy wrapped in cellophane. To hold the cellophane bag/cone inside just a dot of hot glue will hold it in enough. Then you can remove the candy and blow to your heart's content.
I used a Pottery Barn linen towel with a black and white stripe ruffled border for the napkin. I use these small towels quite a bit for napkins.
I hope you and yours have a wonderful New Year. Thanks for looking. Please feel free to leave a comment. Thank you again.

Poinsettia Medley
This tablescape is so colorful and cheery it makes me happy. Inspired by the inexpensive red Poinsettia placemats that I purchased at a Kroeger market.

Icy Blue Snowflake Tablescape
Icy Blues and Silver Snowflakes
I LOVE COMMENTS! Please feel free to leave a comment at the end of the post. Thanks.
My inspiration for this Tablescape was my blue and cream woven damask tablecloth from Martha Stewart. Woven into the design are many snowflakes. I have used this cloth several times.

Nutcracker Suite Tablescape
Dedicated to my lovely granddaughter performing in "The Nutcracker" this year, with a major Ballet Company.
We love Ballet in our family, having had two children dance professionally. Now another generation is following in their footsteps.
I had the most fun doing this tablescape. I was hoping to make it whimsical and fun, but also elegant. The top plates are each different and unique, featuring a different Nutcracker Ballet Dancer.
The Sugar Plum Fairy is the featured dancer on this plate. Look at the Christmas Cracker that matches so closely. How did I luck out finding the Cracker's at T. J. Max to match the Nutcracker plates I purchased on Ebay!

Thanksgiving 2014 Tablescape
May we all ponder upon and be thankful for all of our blessings.
If you click on the photos they will enlarge for a better view.
I wanted to do a tablescape for Thanksgiving that was more muted in color than I have done before. Using mostly white, cream, and brown. All except for the colorful Thanksgiving Pilgrim Cracker Poppers. They are so fun!
The adorable girl pilgrim version of the cracker poppers.

Olde St. Nick Tablescape
Table setting inspired by my collection of Spode St Nick Plates. Sold at Williams Sonoma. Lovely transferware. Each year Spode made a different version of the plates. I tried to collect some from every year until they ceased production. I have at least one from every year although not all styles were used on this table.

Just Because....I Love This Vine...
Just Because, I Love a China Berry Vine....
The colors are Glorious! Where can you find so many colors on one plant. Rose, pink white, cream, lavender, purple. navy, teal, copen blue, brown, tan, greens.... How can this be?
In my area it is hot and dry in summer so this vine needs an Eastern exposure so it doesn't get full day sun. While perfectly fine in my garden, in the Eastern U.S,, it can be invasive. Not here! I wouldn't care anyway because the berry show is magical!

The Skull of Midas Tablescape
Skull of Midas
Whether you want to admit it or not, if you are a "Tabelscaper" you are already thinking of Halloween.
This tablescape was an easy and quick one to do. Hopefully giving you some simple ideas for a fun Halloween table. Just a plate stack and a simple centerpiece of a Dollar Tree skull that I covered in glitter. Set upon an urn that I already had, placing a black plate on top of the urn to hold the skull. Just think of any pedestal you have, if not black or the color you want just use some inexpensive spray paint and paint away! I just used a neck scarf for a runner. Any scarf or piece of fabric would do.
This is a Tablescape I did last year. I never shared it on any other websites. So I am re-posting. Please feel free to leave a comment below.
The black and metallic gold skull plate from Z Gallerie was my inspiration for the tablescape. I purchased the plates in 2013 but they are still available. They have them with a silver skull as well. I think they are beautiful.

Memories of the Gulf.... Beach Theme Summer Tablescape.
Please feel free to leave a comment at the end of the post. I read each and every one. I love comments!
This was a fun table to do. Brought us great memories of our vacation in Florida. Wonderful memories of our family. I would have liked to have done this tablescape outside, but it was too windy the day of photos.

International Talk Like A Pirate Day Pirate Themed Tablescape
International Talk Like a Pirate Day
Thinking of Pirate's of Olde. Not too fancy, but to make ye all comfy like. Sit and enjoy.
Pickin's For All!
I will be posting my tablescape on Tablescape Thursday for Between Naps on the Porch.
To create this Tablescape, I used items from Ikea, Macy's, Pottery Barn, Ebay, T.J. Max, JoAnn's (treasure chest), Disneyland, Williams-Sonoma, Horchow, Home Goods, Martha Stewart Crafts (skull gift boxes, glass glitter, Skeleton, Circle Punch Doily Maker), Pier One, Swiss Days boutique, and last but not least Dollar Tree (I love that place). I got a lot of help on the lingo from International Talk Like A Pirate Day's dictionary featured on their site. (Link towards the top.)
I Love Comments. Please leave a comment.

In honor of this day, I have designed a Pirate Themed Table. Great for Halloween!
Aye... Now to see our celebration with the King watching over the festivities.
Thinking of Pirate's of Olde. Not too fancy, but to make ye all comfy like. Sit and enjoy.
Davy Bones, Scourge of the Seven Seas and Pirate King, overseeing the festivities.
(Sword plates and skull and cross bone placecard holders from Pottery Barn.)
Come ye all to the galley for some grog and hard tack!
Booty looted from Davy Bones' Locker
(I bought the treasure chest at JoAnn's, stained it, and added a ledge in there so that I could put a piece of foam inside that I carved into a dome shape, hot glued in all the jewels and coins and placed the mirror and a the tentacle necklace inside.)
Pickin's For All!
Pillaged from a Man-O'-War.
(The ships' wheel is from an end table made in the 60's, and I added small table legs to the outside of the wheel, stained them and varnished the whole thing. That end table had the coolest base, it was a ships' lantern. THIS ships' wheel was the inspiration for the whole tablescape.)

Ye bilge rat! Did ye think I wouldn' find out about yer Skullduggery? Hidin' yer plunder in this two-faced Jack!
(This was a fun craft, this skull is a Martha Stewart, cardboard gift box. You put in little treats as a party favor.)

Bilged on her Anchor!

To celebrate International Talk Like A Pirate Day, my youngest daughter called me up to tell me about a friend of hers who would be dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow at Pirate-O's in Draper so we could get a picture of him. Pirate-O's is a great little store with tons of awesome International/Unique foods and gifts.
When we saw Captain Jack Sparrow, I was shocked by how accurately he portrays the character, even in how he walks and speaks like our favorite scallywag! My daughter and son-in-law (her husband) participate in the charity costuming group called HEROIC, and we love to enjoy those events with them! Their friend, Captain Jack, is also in that group.
