Valentine in Paris Tablescape

                
                                                Romance in Paris

Done in shades of pink with cream accents, my tablescape has a Parisian theme with the little Eiffel tower desert plates surrounded by soft pinks and red hearts.

I have used items that reflect the design in my placemats.  The placemats were made from wrapping paper that I had laminated.  The wrapping paper came from France via Ebay.  

A golden crown suspended from the chandelier,  with keys, crowns, Valentine cards, a bird and of course the Eiffel Tower.  These same items are reflected in the print of the placemats.

My wonderful Macarons from the bakery Fillings & Emulsions.  The chef there participated in the Holiday Baking Championship on the Food Network this past holiday season.  Remember Adalberto?  Wonderful Reds and Pinks.  Some of the pink cookies are air-brushed with silver.  Some of the red ones are air-brushed with gold.  The flavors are incredible, a Pink Champagne flavor and a Passion fruit Chocolate.  I don't think I will make Macarons anymore because I am so lucky to have this wonderful bakery so close by and Macarons are one of their specialties.  Their prices are great as well. 

Remember Paris.  People have chosen symbols of their concern for Paris by using hearts, lockets, and peace signs.  My heart locket and keys from Crate and Barrel were Sold Out immediately.  Some people were going to France to attach them in special places to show that their hearts, love, and support were with the French people.


Each guest will receive this adorable little box of chocolates for a take home gift.

In this full view of the place mat, I think you can see that I have captured elements in my tablescape that reflect the design of the mat.

Some people ask me where I get my variety of items that I have used in my tablescapes.  I get most of the items in the most unusual and unexpected places.  It is so fun to find a surprise at some shop, bakery, grocery store, pharmacy, or even a gas station.  It seems like I can quite often spot something others don't notice.  At least my family thinks so.
