ICE CREAM FUN-CHILDREN'S TABLE

A fun little table for my grand kiddo's to come visit and play.  If you click on the photos they will enlarge for a better view.

A beautiful day to enjoy their company.  I love these precious little people.  I wish all of them could be here but several of them live far away.

I have always done more children's tables than tables for adults.  Yet hadn't featured them on my Blog until now.

One of the hallmarks of my children's tables are the chairs.  I like to decorate them in many different ways.  I have a lot of PB Kids, chair backers.  They are so whimsical and fun.  You can have the child's name embroidered on them.   I stopped monogramming them as the kids grew up too fast and the family kept expanding.  The chair backers have a pocket that you can place a prize, treat, or love note to the child.

Before you think I go to the expense of paying full price for the chair backers ( I am not sure but they can go up to about $24 dollars each) I buy them at closeout prices.  If you follow my blog you might remember that I go to a PB/Williams-Sonoma/West Elm clearance center.  I use the term a 3rd tier outlet.  They sell discontinued, customer returns, or pre-monogrammed items that didn't have a perfect monogram.  What I purchase are NEW items where the monogram was misspelled, monogrammed upside down, etc..  So I have paid as low as $.25 up to $1.00 each!

I have become an expert in removing monograms, never did I realize how easy it would become.  I remove the stitching with a seam ripper on the back and pull the threads out from the front with a tweezers.  There is a specific name brand shaver on the market that makes removing stitches even easier, or you can use a mustache shaver as well.  I haven't tried either shavers yet.

I have removed monograms from Christmas Stockings, tablecloths, duvet covers, silk quilts, bedding, you name it.   You probably know what these companies sell and they will monogram almost any of their products.  I have come to wonder why people want their initials on so many things.  and I mean everything.  I think it is fun to have your name or initials added to an item but not everything.  To get the stitching marks out I lightly spray with water  or sizing spray and with a low heat iron I will press the marks out.  Most items you can't tell were ever monogrammed.

This adorable little tablecloth came from Target.   I paid full price which was $5.98.  It is vinyl with a nice flannel backing.  It is a good size as well.  I am using a PB Kids table (the larger size that can fit 6 children).  I bought the table a few years ago, (Brand New) for $20.00.  Made from solid heavy wood.  A steal of a price for what PB sells them for.  Purchased at a Tent sale.

Our cotton candy floss machine that we can share among the family.  This is a very fun item for parties and family and friends get-togethers.

I made a few windmills for the children to play with.  The wind was really blowing, a perfect day for a windmill.

The gumball jar from Home Goods had a wooden lid.  I just painted the top to match the colors on the tablecloth and chair.

This fun little banner (from Target dollar bin) wishing much fun to the children.
