International Talk Like A Pirate Day was started by 2 adventuresome guys. This celebration has been going on for several years. It is now celebrated internationally. Who would have thought! Some of my local stores have some fun activities on this day. Always celebrated on Sept. 19th, no matter what day of the week it is. I started my celebration because my youngest daughter and her husband invited me along. It is fun and can be quite a comical experience.
I am not quite sure what my fascination with Pirate tales comes from. Maybe the romance of the stories. I love the look of the Pirate dress, the sailing ships, the treasure and adventure. Was my fascination solidified by my experience one Halloween night long ago (see this blog post HERE).
I have done a tablescape to help celebrate this day. It is also a fun idea for Halloween. You can see a past Pirate Tablescape I did in celebration of this day HERE.

Our Krispy Kreme Doughnut shops had Pirate day so anyone dressed up as a pirate got a free dozen hot glazed doughnuts. My husband dressed up and we enjoyed the great costumes at our local shop. Love the idea of a tablescape too! Very clever!
